Holy Rosary Kutus Catholic Parish was founded in 1987 through the dedicated work of the Consolata missionaries. The parish was established to serve the growing Catholic community in Kutus and its surrounding within Kirinyaga County. Holy Rosary Kutus Catholic Parish is under Catholic Diocese of Murang'a which is led by Rt. Rev. James Maria Wainana. The parish is currently under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Dennis Muriithi assisted by Rev. Fr. Michael Munyao.
During the 1990s, the parish experienced significant growth, leading to the establishment of multiple outstations to serve local communities. Schools and healthcare facilities were also developed to serve the broader community.
The new millennium brought increased focus on community development projects, including educational initiatives, healthcare services, and social programs that continue to benefit the local population today.
Today, Holy Rosary Kutus continues to thrive as a vibrant parish community, embracing modern technology while maintaining traditional Catholic values. We serve over 3,000 parishioners across 13 outstations. Holy Rosary Kutus Catholic Parish also serves the growing community of Kirinyaga University and AHITI Ndomba College. Additionally, the parish runs two health facilities; Holy Rosary Kutus hospital and Karia Health centre.
To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrate the sacraments, and build a vibrant Catholic community that serves God and neighbors with love, compassion, and dedication to social justice.
