"And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." - Romans 5:5
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within
both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen
"May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven."
The Jubilee Year finds its roots in the Old Testament (Leviticus 25), where every 50th year was declared a year of liberation, forgiveness of debts, and return to ancestral lands.
In the Catholic tradition, it represents a time of special grace, pilgrimage, and spiritual renewal.
Pope Francis has declared 2025 as a Year of Jubilee with the theme "Pilgrims of Hope," calling all Catholics to be bearers of hope in our world.
This is a time for deepening our faith, seeking reconciliation, and serving those in need.
Make a pilgrimage to a designated holy site or participate in parish pilgrimages. The journey itself becomes a prayer and act of devotion.
Practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy through service to the poor, visiting the sick, and caring for those in need.
Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation with a contrite heart, seeking God's forgiveness and mercy during this holy year.
Dedicate time to prayer, meditation, and spiritual reading. Participate in special Jubilee prayers and devotions.
Let us walk together as pilgrims of hope, embracing the grace and mercy of this Jubilee Year. Join our parish community in special celebrations, pilgrimages, and acts of service.
